Working within Operations at Luton site, within a production environment. The role will involve working in a clean room environment (Specify what type) with a significant portion of time spent inspecting populated Printed Circuit Boards (PCB’s) and electro mechanical assemblies for defects and adherence to manufacturing drawings

*the use of a microscope forms a key part of this role and successful applicants should be well used to spending time using this type of equipment*

Key Responsibilities

* Electro Mechanical inspection of production hardware to IPC610 standard
* Core Inspection skills, problem solving and continuous improvement are also a necessity
* Inspection of assemblies to ensure build is in accordance with manufacturing drawings and documentation
* To attain target hours assigned to each task assigned
* Maintain a clean working area and comply with Health and Safety Regulations
* Comply with clean room and ESD disciplines
* Ensure compliance to regulatory and legal requirements
* Identify improvements in process and yield

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

* Experience in electro mechanical and electronic assembly and inspection
* Ability to read and interpret Manufacturing data pack
* Certified to IPC610 and ability to apply requirements within the standards objectively and consistently
* Previous experience of military and aerospace products
* Ability to carry out both repeat production inspection and varied one off types of work (prototypes)
* Attention to detail and pride in workmanship
* Should be an effective communicator at all levels as you will be expected to liaise with supervisor, Industrial Engineering, Production Planning & Engineering
* Thorough understanding of the importance of ESD and FOD controls within a manufacturing environment
* Ensure effective use of time management

Desirable:

* Certification to IPC620, J-Std-001, IPC7711/21
