The EU Health Information System Unit is at Sciensano is involved in international projects in health information including the Population Health Information Research Infrastructure (PHIRI), HealthyCloud and the Joint Action Towards the European Health Data Space. These projects aim to facilitate and support data-driven research by sharing health information across European countries. In specific use cases federated research infrastructures are built and tested to allow federated analysis of data sets. You would be responsible to carry out these use cases.

Your specific tasks within the project:

  • design and implementation of data management processes (including extraction, integration, quality;analysis and maintenance and management of metadata)
  • design and implementation of distributed analysis codes;
  • performance optimization of data management processes and queries;
  • diagnosis and resolution of incidents;
  • execute process mining techniques and analyse their results.

 

Job Requirements:

Master with specific training in Information Systems, Computing or Software Engineering.

Practical knowledge of data management : design and use of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, etc.), including mastery of the SQL language; design and use of non-relational databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.); design of ETL processes

Practical knowledge in languages, libraries and specialized environments in data science (R, Python+Pandas,…)

Practical knowledge of data quality analysis and evaluation techniques and processes.

Practical knowledge of specialised libraries for Big Data processing (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, etc.)

Practical knowledge of machine learning / deep learning libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)

Practical knowledge in the field of health information systems: applications, coding standards, etc.
