FLORENS CONTAINERS, a wholly owned subsidiary of COSCO (a fortune 500 firm), has more than 30-years in the container leasing industry; Florens has grown to be one of the largest cargo container lessors in the world. With offices all around the world serving our clients’ needs for long- and short-term needs with quality products and a high level of customer service.

This position is to further develop our container trading business for both used and new container in Europe. Routine operation is to provide solutions of effectively reallocate our resale inventory to locations where we could achieve higher profit margin. The internal position title is Officer, Global marketing under our Germany (Hamburg) office.

What you will be responsible for:

As a member of our business development team, you will be responsible for the establishment and maintaining long-term business relationships. You will be strategically identified and engage in opportunities to expand the market sector.


1. Maintaining and in-charge of regional/ area containers leasing business

2. Preparation and negotiation of customer quotations, contract terms, and commercial terms

3. Responsible to collect information included regional and area market activities, shipping industry developments, national and local policy changes, and trends, and collecting market information for Marketing Department.

4. Coordinate with Risk Management Dept for credit and payment receivable issues


1. Managing overall sales activities (Container Trading – Used and Brand-New Container) in the UK and other related areas and achieving company financial budget targets

2. Responsible for account receivables, review and develop collection plan to meet credit policy and risk management requirements.

3. Managing customer credit limits and risks.

4. Ensuring Container Trading follows compliance with the requirements.

5. Identify need of repositioning (Within region and cross-region basis), include locations / quantity / equipment type / size and justification.


1. Develop one way and empty container movement in Europe and Europe back to Asia.

2. Develop vendors for one way movement activities and on an empty reposition container logistics operation.

3. Develop new-build container trading in UK and Europe.

4. Provide Market Analysis/Formulate Market Strategy for New Container Trading – One Trip Markets in UK and in European region。

5. Provide report on Demand and Surplus / Port Pair Analysis and Logistics Strategy to remove idling units within European region as well as ex European region cross region to NAM and AP regions.

Job Requirements:

What we look for:  

Educational background: College degree or above in sales/ marketing or business management.

Experience: At least 10 years of relevant working experience in the international container trading or leasing industry; At least 8 years of management experience in the field of logistics is highly preferred

Possess solid experience in exploring overseas markets, especially Europe and Mediterranean markets.


1. Possess a deeper understanding of container leasing marketing work.

2. Possess a strong market perception ability, acutely grasps the market dynamics, the market direction ability.

3. Strong in developing strategic plans to support business initiatives.

4. Top-notch quantitative and analytical skills; ability to find structure, logic, and insight in complex business problems to provide meaningful conclusions.

5. Ability to structure documents and quantitative analyses effectively communicate with senior management.

6. Bilingualist would be an advantage.

7. Computer literacy in MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
