Overview
A company in the marketing and graphic design technology space is looking for a Spanish-speaking, Spain-based commercial lawyer to support with negotiating education agreements with regional ministries across Spain. This opportunity involves working with approximately 20 different regional ministries to establish free access agreements for their education product in schools. The work will be project-based and ongoing, starting at 10+ hours per week with potential to scale significantly as more ministries engage.
Responsibilities
- Conduct negotiations with Spanish regional education ministries via video calls and meetings
- Review and translate standard education agreements from English to Spanish
- Work with Spanish-language ministry documents and ensure compliance with company standards
- Communicate directly with ministry officials in Spanish
- Address ministry concerns about data security, safety protocols, and technical compliance
- Collaborate closely with the business development team on strategy and standards
Qualifications
- Spanish-qualified lawyer with commercial law experience
- Native Spanish speaker based in Spain (location within Spain flexible)
- Experience dealing with public sector authorities and government bureaucracy
- Senior-level attorney comfortable explaining technical security posture to government officials
- Ability to work collaboratively with international teams across time zones
- Available for ongoing, project-based work with variable weekly hours
