Our client is hiring for Trainee Recruitment Consultants eager to work the UK market from our London office, or the US market initially from their London office and relocating over to New York City.

Your Role:

As a Trainee Recruitment Consultant, you will join either our specialist Procurement or Supply Chain Management Teams in the UK or US, working with experienced recruiters, Managers and Directors. From day one, you will work in a full recruitment life-cycle role, involving both generating candidates (advertising, head-hunting, referrals etc) and generating clients (cold/warm calling, client meetings, leads etc), whilst equally leveraging off the firm’s extensive database of clients and candidates. Existing key clients range from SMEs through to large blue-chip multinationals including blue sky strategy consultancies, Big 4 management consultancies, tier one investment banks, oil & gas super-majors, magic circle law firms, high street retailers, leading pharmaceutical firms and many more.

They offer the chance for Trainee Recruitment Consultants, with no prior recruitment or even sales experience, to take on responsibility very quickly through generating your own clients, account managing clients, managing your own day, whilst having extensive one-on-one training from established top billers and proven Managers/Directors. They provide a flat management structure with all our Managers, Directors, top billers sitting “on desk” next to Trainee Recruiters, Senior Consultants etc so they can pass on knowledge and expertise on a daily basis.

They offer a meritocratic promotion environment based purely on your personal billing, where you are encouraged to take on more and more responsibility as you develop into a Senior Consultant and hopefully into Management/Directorship.

Training:

* Formal, Classroom Training – delivered by the Managers and Directors, working through 26 tailor made training courses which include: Candidate Qualification, Advert Writing, Head-hunting, Cold-Call Business

Development, Retainer Pitching, Rapport Building, Reference Taking and Being a “Green Consultant” etc.

* On-the-job Training - in addition to our extensive formal training, a huge part of our training is on-the-job. This comprises work shadowing the top billers, Managers and Directors as well as having them listening to your calls, going on meetings with you, giving you feedback etc. They have also recently set up an internal library of sales, psychology and motivational books for staff to read at their leisure.

* External Training – they send consultants out on recruitment, sales, management, motivational training external training courses depending on their level. Current off-site training includes: The Engage London Sales Conference, The National Sales Academy, Managers Managing Stress and Raise the Bar Management Training.

* Daily, Weekly, Monthly and 6 Monthly Reviews - with a Manager and/or Director to assess your activity, results and implement more training, guidance and consultant action points. They believe that as well as working hard, they need to work smart and optimise our time and efforts on the activities that are most likely to make us money.

Basic Salary:

* Competitive Basic - dependent on background and experience, with increases based solely on your personal billing and promotions.

Individual , Uncapped Commission Scheme:

* Monthly Commission - based purely on your personal billing from the previous month and paid on a monthly basis.
* Roll-Over Commission - they also offer an annual roll-over commission scheme to incentivise high billers.
* Company Cup – additionally, the top biller every month wins Cup and with it an extra bonus that you have to spend on a luxurious item.

Incentives:

* Quarterly Lunch Clubs – every quarter, the top billers (individual targets) go to a Michelin Star restaurant chosen by the first person to hit their individual target with everything paid for by the Director or Managing Director organising the Lunch Club. Recent Lunch Club restaurants have included: Nobu, Alain Ducasse, Hakkasan, Pied a Terre, The Square and Obilix.

* Monthly Team Nights Out - based on hitting team monthly targets.
* Company Office Nights Out – both ad hoc Thursday and Friday night drinks as well as more organised office nights out at Awards Dinners and celebrating smashing monthly office targets.

* Monthly “House Competition” Nights Out - everyone at the firm joins one of three houses (Amazon, Congo and Rio Dulce) and competes in monthly competitive events against the other houses for an annual trophy. Events have included: Dodgeball, Quasar, Virtual Golf, Go-karting, Rounders in Hyde Park, Bowling, Poker Night, Rock Climbing, Pool, Table Tennis and Zorb Football.

* Cocktail making with Steve – they sent out all the ingredients through a firm and then everyone logged on for cocktail masterclasses on our favourite cocktails including Negronis, Mojitos, White

Russians, Margaritas and Espresso Martinis o Cocktail drinking with Dev - they send ready-made cocktails through the post to each consultant along with a £20 budget to buy your own take-away then quiz nights and other fun games

* Gym workout with Max – 45 minute “Joe Wicks style” workout with fitness trainer Max over Zoom o Make your own face mask with Shiva

* 3 Company Holidays Every Year: o Office Winter Holiday in a European city – Budapest/Bucharest/Madrid/Seville (January) o Office AGM Holiday in Malta/Ibiza/Barcelona/Split (June)
* Top Billers Holiday in Las Vegas/Cancun/Barbados/Tokyo (October/November)

* Flexible working including up to 3 days working from home per week, although you can work 5 days per week from the office as you prefer

Job Profile:

* Strong academics, inclusive of a Bachelors degree from a leading UK or international University
* Previous commercial office-based experience. This could include a work placement, summer work or post graduate experience
* Previous sales or client facing experience is useful but by no means essential, although no prior recruitment experience is required
* Hard working, professional person with a track record of working hard and displaying our 4 cultural values – Proven, Trusted, World Class, Passionate ✓ Positive, can-do attitude
* Proven track record of success, proved through a combination of academics, sport, music, work and/or entrepreneurial exploits
