Job Description:
Mechanic (pathway to HGV mechanic) – Exeter - Permanent Role - Level 3 City and Guilds qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair is essential.
Salary: £16 per hour apprentice rate, then £18.00 to £18.75 per hour once qualified (rising with experience).
Perm OTE Example: Based on £16ph: £35,464.00, Based on £18.75ph: £41558.92
Once qualified, you will be put through your HGV Class 1 licence, which is FULLY funded.
Shift: Week 1: Mon-Fri, 07:00–15:30. Week 2: Mon-Thurs 15:00–23:00, Fri 15:00–22:00, and Saturday 08:30–12:00, paid at time and a half.

Interested in upskilling from a light vehicle technician to a heavy goods vehicle technician? Our client, in conjunction with a major truck manufacturer, is offering the unique opportunity to become a fully qualified HGV technician.
Your Role:
Once converted, you will be servicing, repairing, and maintaining trucks, buses, and luxury coaches, including
hybrid technology to the highest standards.
Use computer-aided diagnostic equipment and specialist tools.
Attend an 8-month conversion training programme at Training Academy in blocks of 3-5 days.
usually once a month (all travel and accommodation expenses paid).

What we need from you:
Must have City and Guilds Level 3 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair
5+ years of mechanical experience
Experience within a workshop or dealership
Full clean driving licence (HGV 1 or PSV desirable)
You will need to have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and great communication skills.
